On Monday, a single-vehicle accident in Alaska resulted in the deaths of two U.S. Army soldiers, with a dozen others sustaining injuries, according to officials.
The incident occurred in the Yukon Training Area near Salcha, where at least 17 soldiers were traveling in a light medium tactical vehicle designed for troop transport.
First responders arrived at the scene and administered medical care until the injured soldiers could be transported by both ground and air to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Fairbanks, approximately 30 miles from Salcha. In the aftermath of the incident, two soldiers died, and 12 others were injured, although their conditions were not immediately available as of early Tuesday.
