In the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia on a Monday night, a incident unfolded where eight individuals were shot and four more were killed, police say. Two of the victims were identified as juveniles.
Upon receiving a distress call reporting multiple individuals being shot, police arrived at the intersection of 56th Street and Chester Avenue around 8:30 p.m. The injured were promptly transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, while a juvenile victim was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Police later apprehended a suspect in the 1800 block of Frazier Street. Police said at a news conference the suspect was wearing a ballistic vest and a rifle and handgun were found nearby.
They did not elaborate on a possible motive.
