A crash on Labor Day claimed the lives of five people and left at least three others injured along an interstate in northeast Atlanta, according to authorities.
The collision, involving three vehicles, occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Monday, on a ramp leading to the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in the Duluth area. Gwinnett County police provided details in a statement, explaining that one of the vehicles went over the elevated ramp’s wall, falling onto the lanes below. At the accident scene, five individuals were discovered deceased, while three others were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Due to the collision, the area experienced significant road closures, but these were reported as reopened by mid-day on Monday, as confirmed by the police.
At this time, authorities have not disclosed the identities of the deceased or injured individuals, nor have they provided additional information regarding the accident.
