NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Five people lost their lives in a small plane crash that occurred in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Sunday. According to WBTW, four individuals were initially reported as deceased, with one person sustaining severe injuries. The injured victim passed away after being transported to the hospital.
The cause of the crash, which took place northwest of the Grand Stand Airport, is currently unknown. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated in a report that they are still investigating the incident. Previous information from the FAA indicated that the plane had four individuals on board.
Flight tracking site FlightAware reveals that the plane departed at 11:02 a.m. and crashed just one minute later. The site also indicates that the most recent flight of the PA-32R-300 model aircraft, registered to Joseph T. Farnese, a resident of New Jersey, occurred on Friday.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether Farnese was among the occupants of the plane.
