FLORIDA – Police discovered a submerged car near Top Golf in Fort Myers, containing five individuals aged between 18 and 19 — all have died.
The Fort Myers Police Department said the accident occurred sometime Sunday night. Officers were alerted between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., following a report about the missing people in the car.
Interim Fort Myers Police Chief Randall Pepitone said officers and deputies worked to retrieve the victims from the car and administer life-saving measures, but no survivors were found.
The authorities discovered two women and three men inside the vehicle. Sergeant Kristi Neroni revealed that some of the victims were employed at a Texas Roadhouse located near Six Mile Cypress and Challenger Boulevard.
The investigation is ongoing.
