Berkeley, CA – Authorities have revealed additional information and video footage related to a domestic violence incident that resulted in the deaths of a woman and the suspect at an East Bay car dealership in September.

On the morning of September 21, a distress call was placed, summoning police to the Toyota of Berkeley service center situated on Eastshore Highway in Albany at approximately 11:15 a.m., in response to reports of an active shooter. Both Berkeley and Albany law enforcement converged on the scene.

In an update provided on Friday, the Berkeley Police Department released surveillance and body camera recordings of the event. Viewer discretion is advised due to the graphic nature of the content.

In the video, police spokesperson Jessica Perry revealed that 24-year-old Lamar Walker of Vacaville had entered the establishment and fired upon 24-year-old Alonna Gallon, an employee at the dealership. Surveillance footage obtained by the police depicted Walker approaching Gallon, who was seated at her desk, and firing a point-blank shot. Walker then turned the weapon on himself in an attempt at suicide but he did not die.

Following the evacuation of dealership personnel directed by officers, it was determined that both the victim and the shooter were located on the second floor of the building. With no active gunfire reported, law enforcement commenced a thorough search of the premises.

As officers ascended to the second floor, both body-worn camera footage and surveillance recordings captured Walker aiming a firearm at the approaching officers. In response to this imminent threat, five officers discharged their firearms, striking Walker. Tragically, when authorities reached the scene, Gallon was already dead, bearing a gunshot wound, alongside Walker. Despite efforts by emergency responders, both individuals were declared deceased at the scene.

Eyewitnesses at the time of the incident confirmed that the victim and the shooter were acquainted with one another. Subsequent investigations by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office determined that the episode was a result of domestic violence, as the two were in a relationship and shared a 7-year-old son.

The investigation is ongoing.
