JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – According to authorities, a 6-year-old child in Florida was tragically shot and killed by a 9-year-old. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Assistant Chief J.D. Stronko reported that the child sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
During the time of the shooting, an adult was present in the home, Stronko said. Due to Florida’s victim privacy protections known as Marsy’s Law, authorities are unable to reveal the nature of the relationship between the adult and the children, as well as the relationship between the two young individuals.

The investigation is currently ongoing, and the sheriff’s office has not filed any charges at this point.
