BREAKING: Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin Was Treated for Prostate Cancer During Secret Hospital Trip

10 months ago 129

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin received a prostate cancer diagnosis in December, leading to a successful minimally invasive procedure aimed at treating and curing the condition, as stated by officials from Walter Reed National Military Center on Tuesday.

“Secretary Austin recovered uneventfully from his surgery and returned home the next morning. His prostate cancer was detected early, and his prognosis is excellent,” the statement said.

However, on January 1, Austin was readmitted to Walter Reed due to complications arising from the procedure conducted on December 22. The complications included symptoms such as nausea, severe abdominal discomfort, and pain in the hip and leg, according to the officials’ statement.

The news comes after backlash from the Pentagon’s decision to keep the hospital stay a secret — even keeping President Joe Biden in the dark about the procedure.

This is a breaking news update.
