An Indianapolis man has been apprehended for committing armed robbery in a bizarre fashion.
The incident occurred when Damien Boyce allegedly held Amber Beraun at gunpoint, forcibly taking $100 in cash from her while she was checking her mail. Astonishingly, after the robbery, Boyce told Beraun to find him on Facebook and add him as a friend.
Following the ordeal, Boyce assured Beraun that he would reimburse her at a later time before making his getaway on a bicycle. Subsequently, Beraun received messages on Facebook from Boyce, expressing his desire to meet with her.
One of Boyce’s messages, as reported by FOX 19, stated, “Look just know imma pay you back, it’s an [expletive] way to meet but [expletive] you was too pretty to rob. For real. I’m [expletive] we had to meet up on them terms. Come chill with me. I swear I’m no on that type of timing.”
“I believe you man. I can tell you’re sweet. Times just get rough I know that,” the victim replied. “I do have a man. You know I can’t do that LOL. I wish you the best tho.”
On Wednesday, Boyce was arrested for armed robbery and charged as a felon in possession of a handgun. Boyce had already been taken into custody the previous week for a separate crime involving robbery resulting in bodily injury and assault with a deadly weapon. In that incident, he allegedly shot two individuals and assaulted another person with a brick.
