LEAKED MEMO: DeSantis Debate Strategy Memo Suggests He Defend Trump, Attack Ramaswamy

1 year ago 239

Associates of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have formulated a strategy for the impending GOP presidential primary debate of the following week. Their memo urges him to shield former President Donald Trump against attacks from his competitor Chris Christie and to brand emerging contender Vivek Ramaswamy as a “fake.”

This two-page memorandum, authored by the leaders of the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down, has been posted on the Axiom Strategies website, dated August 15.

The memo states, “Defend Trump when Chris Christie attacks him,” and introduces a possible statement for DeSantis to deliver in response the Christie: “Trump isn’t here so let’s just leave him alone. He’s too weak to defend himself here. We’re all running against him. I don’t think we want to join forces with someone on this stage who’s auditioning for a show on MSNBC.”

Regarding Ramaswamy, DeSantis’ allies suggest that the Florida governor should metaphorically “take a sledge-hammer” against him, referring to him as “Fake Vivek” or “Vivek the Fake.”

“Invoke a personal anecdote story about family, kids, Casey, showing emotion,” the memo says.

The New York Times broke the story. Read the memo here.

Another boring, establishment attack from Super PAC-creation “Robot Ron” who is literally taking lame, pre-programmed attack lines against me for next week’s debate. “Hammer Ramaswamy.” 😂pic.twitter.com/u8puIW88jS
