NASHVILLE (MNPD) – Outstanding work by South Precinct detectives today led to the quick apprehension of an 18-year-old who shot a woman withdrawing money at a Bank of America ATM on Murfreesboro Pike. Roy M. Davis, of Antioch, walked up to the 32-year-old victim’s driver side window as she was retrieving cash from the ATM, pointed a firearm at her and shot her once in the left shoulder.
The woman said he did not ask or demand anything before firing at her. He fled on foot.
The victim drove across the street to a nearby business where she called police. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.
Detectives investigated calls for service in the area and that led them to Davis’ home on Bell Road where he was found wearing clothes that matched the suspect’s description. He admitted to his involvement in the shooting during an interview with detectives.
Davis was charged with aggravated assault. He is currently being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
