Nashville Woman Fatally Injured by Freight Train

TENNESSEE (MNPD) – The person struck and fatally injured by a CSX freight train on tracks behind the 900 block of Currey Road just after 1 a.m. today is identified as Alicia Lesch, 34, of South Nashville.

The investigation shows that Lesch was lying or sitting on the tracks as the train rounded a curve. The engineer reported that Lesch was in the process of getting up, but that he could not stop the train before impact. Lesch died at the scene.
