Massachusetts State Police say a player from the New England Patriots was taken into custody on Friday evening at a security checkpoint in Boston’s Logan Airport. The arrest came after authorities discovered two firearms inside the player’s carry-on bag, WCVB-TV reported.

25-year-old NFL cornerback Jackie K. Jones from Arizona had intended to travel from Boston to Arizona, according to police.

Law enforcement was summoned to Terminal B’s Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint around 5:30 p.m. following the detection of two firearms in a traveler’s carry-on luggage.

Jones is now facing several charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” the Patriots said in a statement. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”

After being processed at the State Police Logan Airport Barracks, he was assigned a bail amount of $50,000.
