Oceangate Suspends Operations After Deadly Submersible Implosion During Titanic Dive

On Thursday, OceanGate, a company headquartered in Everett, Washington, announced the suspension of its operations following the deadly incident involving their submersible.

The submersible named Titan, owned by the company, met a fatal implosion during its descent on June 18 in the North Atlantic. All five individuals on board, including Stockton Rush, the pilot of the submersible and the CEO of the company, lost their lives in the implosion.

In a statement on their website, OceanGate declared the suspension of all exploration and commercial activities.

The implosion is under investigation by the Coast Guard.
