One Killed, 9 Injured In Mass Shooting Near Indiana University Of Pennsylvania

A shooting broke out at a private party held at a Pennsylvania community center in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in one fatality and eight individuals sustaining injuries, according to authorities.

The Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana County reported that at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, they received a call regarding a shooting at the Chevy Chase Community Center in White Township, located approximately 50 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Responding to the scene were state troopers, local law enforcement officers, and emergency services.

Among the nine victims, aged between 18 and 23, a 22-year-old man from Pittsburgh died at the location. Additionally, an 18-year-old individual from Chicago sustained critical injuries, while an 18-year-old from Florida was also among those wounded. The remaining victims were all residents of Pennsylvania — three men aged 19, 20, and 22, two 19-year-old women, and a 23-year-old woman.

At the time of the report, no suspects were in custody, and authorities appealed to the public for information. They have not disclosed the circumstances leading to the shooting, the identity of the shooter(s), or whether multiple individuals were involved and present at the gathering.
