19-Year-Old Woman Disappeared After Moving to Atlanta In 2016 Is Dead, Police Say

ATLANTA – Two people have been taken into custody in connection with the disappearance of Morgan Bauer, a 19-year-old woman who went missing in 2016 after relocating from South Dakota to Georgia.

Katelyn Goble was apprehended in Peoria, Illinois, and faces charges of concealing death and tampering with evidence, as outlined by a statement from the City of Porterdale (Ga.) Police Department shared on Facebook.

In a separate arrest, Johnathan Alexander Warren was taken into custody in Los Angeles and is facing charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, concealing death, and misdemeanor tampering with evidence, according to law enforcement. The relationship between the suspects and Bauer was not immediately known.

On July 27, the Porterdale police conducted a search on a property in Porterdale, Georgia, situated about 35 miles from Atlanta, at the request of the Atlanta Police Department. The property owners fully cooperated with the investigation, police said.

Bauer had completed her studies at Central High School in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and embarked on her new life in Atlanta on February 12, 2016.

The report of Bauer’s disappearance was filed on March 12, 2016.

Accounts from that time reveal that Bauer’s initial housing plans fell through shortly after her arrival in Atlanta. Consequently, she stayed at a hotel. Her last activity on social media platforms Facebook and Instagram occurred on February 25, 2016, with one post suggesting that she had secured employment at a strip club.

The investigation is ongoing.
