Shortly after concluding its investigation into the cocaine incident at the White House, the Secret Service revealed that marijuana had been discovered on the premises twice in 2022.

In a classified briefing to Congress regarding the cocaine investigation during the Fourth of July weekend, the Secret Service revealed the information, Fox News reported.

“Per the Secret Service Uniformed Division, small amounts of marijuana were found on two occasions in 2022 (June and September), at a check point,” the Secret Service said in a statement. “No one was arrested in these incidents because the weight of the marijuana confiscated did not meet the legal threshold for federal charges or DC misdemeanor criminal charges as the District of Columbia had decriminalized possession. The marijuana was collected by officers and destroyed.”

While possessing less than two ounces of marijuana is not considered illegal in Washington, D.C., it remains prohibited on federal property, including the White House.

Earlier in the day, the Secret Service announced the closure of its investigation into the cocaine incident in the West Wing of the White House due to the absence of fingerprints or DNA evidence.
