Texas Man Sues Walmart, Wants $100 Million or Unlimited Free Shopping for Life

Roderick Jackson of Waskom, Texas has filed two handwritten complaints in the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, seeking $100 million in damages or “unlimited free lifetime shopping” at any Walmart location. The complaints, filed without legal representation, pertain to an alleged incident in March 2021 at an Omaha, Nebraska, store. Jackson claims he experienced a “false pretense of shoplifting” and a violation of his civil rights “based on race/color.”

While the complaints lack detailed information on the nature of the lawsuit, Jackson insists on $100 million in damages and requests Walmart to cover all his court fees. Walmart, responding to the complaint, emphasized its commitment to non-discrimination and stated it would defend against the allegations once formally served.

This isn’t Jackson’s first legal action against Walmart; in 2021, he sued the retail giant over a similar incident, alleging racial profiling, false accusations, and emotional distress. In that case, he initially sought $100 million and future shopping credits, later amending the claim to request $175 million in damages. However, the case was dismissed that year due to a failure in properly serving Walmart, as per court documents.
