The National Hurricane Center reports the emergence of a new tropical depression in the Atlantic, with predictions indicating its transformation into a formidable hurricane by week’s end.
As of Tuesday, the center of Tropical Depression 13, originating between Western Africa and the Windward Islands, is anticipated to maintain its west-northwestward course at 15 mph, accompanied by sustained winds of 35 mph, according to the NHC. CBS News Miami has noted that this tropical depression is expected to intensify into Tropical Storm Lee, potentially as early as late Tuesday or early Wednesday. The NHC has further projected its development into a potential “major hurricane.”
