Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jumps Off Bridge Down 30 Feet To Avoid Getting Hit By Driver

Over the weekend, a dramatic incident was captured on dashcam video on Interstate 270 in Adams County, Colorado, involving a Colorado State Patrol (CSP) trooper, Kevin Bagley.

While responding to a crash, a suspected drunk driver crashed into Trooper Bagley’s patrol vehicle.

In the video, Trooper Bagley can be seen leaping over a railing, falling approximately 30 feet onto a riverbank.

The first crash involved a Jeep colliding with the side of an unoccupied CSP cruiser parked on the interstate. The driver of the Jeep was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).

About 45 minutes after the initial crash, another driver speeding through the scene crashed into the area. This driver ran over traffic cones placed to warn oncoming traffic in the right lane.

Both Trooper Bagley and the second driver, Cesar Ayala Manriquez, suffered injuries during the incident. Although, their injuries were not life-threatening, and they were discharged from the hospital soon after. Manriquez is now facing a vehicular assault-DUI charge for his role in the incident.

During a press conference on Monday, CSP chief Matthew Packard revealed that this incident marked the twelfth time this year that CSP patrol vehicles had been struck by drivers.
